National Youth Musical Theatre
Costume Maker and dresser
During April and May 2013 I worked with designer Takis and costumer supervisor Natasha Mucmurdie, to create the women's costumes for West Side Story. I created patterns for 4 costumes and made one from start to finish. In August I worked as a costume assistant at the techs and shows in Manchester.I repaired costumes, did hair, and did quick costume changes with the actors during the show.

In May 2013 I did a 2 week placement helping to finish costumes for the opera 'Gloriana'. I used a industrial sewing machine during the 2 weeks.

National Youth Theatre
Volunteer
For 3 weeks in
March 2012 I worked, at the National Youth Theatre in a small team, to create
costumes for actors to wear in performances as part of the Olympic and
Paralympic Team Welcome Ceremonies at the Olympic Athletes Village. I helped
with fittings and made neck ruffs, hats and did trouser and t-shirt
adjustments. From 19th June till 24th July 2012 worked at the Athletes village
helping dress the actors for performances, do make-up, repair costumes and do
laundry.
From February 2011 till September 2011 I was a
volunteer at a charity run theatre in Bolton. I did general tidying and
organizing of the costume department and finding items to hire out. I broke
down and distressed props and clothes for a play called ‘Grapes of Wrath`. For
'The Graduate' I made a 1960s wedding dress and put together outfits for one of
the main characters.
